Grand free car boot sale during the Quissac-en-Quercy votive festival, organized by the Comité des Fêtes
Every summer, the Quissac Festival Committee organizes the Quissac-en-Quercy votive festival, the highlight of which is a large free car boot sale in Place du Marronnier. Between 50 and 100 exhibitors gather for this festive day which includes a votive mass, a complimentary aperitif, and entertainment. An unmissable event in the Quercy region.
Quissac is a small village in the Lot (46320), located in the Figeac and Célé valley area. The commune of Quissac-en-Quercy perpetuates the tradition of the votive festival every year, a highlight of local life organized by the dynamic Festival Committee. This festival spans two days of festivities, generally around July, and brings together residents and visitors for a rich and varied program.
On the Sunday of the votive festival, starting at 8 a.m., a large car boot sale takes over Place du Marronnier, the heart of the village. Between 50 and 100 exhibitors—individuals and professionals—offer their finds: clothing, books, toys, decorative items, tableware, and trinkets of all kinds. Entry and pitches are completely free, contributing to the friendly and popular atmosphere of the event.
The Sunday program opens with a votive mass at 10:30 a.m., followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the war memorial, an act of remembrance dear to the Quercy community. In the late morning, a sangria aperitif is offered to all participants. The car boot sale runs all day until 7 p.m., offering long hours of treasure hunting in a relaxed and festive atmosphere. Refreshments and food are available on-site.
The votive festival is not limited to the car boot sale. Saturday and Sunday evenings feature entertainment, music, dances, and various attractions for all ages. Pétanque, competitions, shared meals, and a festive atmosphere make this event a true moment of social life in rural Quercy. The Quissac Festival Committee, run by passionate volunteers, works year-round to keep this festive tradition alive.
Quissac is accessible from Figeac (about 25 km north) and from Cahors (about 60 km southwest). The village is situated in a landscape of causse plateaus and valleys characteristic of Quercy. Parking is available on the outskirts of the village square.
The Quissac Festival Committee is organizing the 2026 votive festival car boot sale in Place du Marronnier. Free entry and pitches, on-site catering, complimentary aperitif.
