The Vintage Coaches of France Flea Market takes place on Sunday, April 12, 2026 on the parking of the Conservatoire des Transports in Wissembourg. An original event organized by the AAF association (Autocars Anciens de France), which gathers and restores more than 200 historic public transport vehicles, it allows visitors to bargain hunt in an unusual setting, at the foot of the exhibited vintage coaches. A unique opportunity to combine a flea market and discovery of French public transport heritage.
The Vintage Coaches of France Flea Market is one of the most original events on the Bas-Rhin flea market calendar. It takes place on the parking of the Conservatoire des Transports in Wissembourg, a unique place in France that houses more than 200 historic public transport vehicles: coaches, buses and tourist buses dating from the 1930s to the 1990s. The Autocars Anciens de France (AAF) association, which manages this exceptional conservatory, organizes this flea market every year to finance the restoration and maintenance of its unique collection.
The originality of this flea market lies in its exceptional setting: bargain hunters and exhibitors move among restored vintage vehicles, creating a retro and nostalgic atmosphere particularly prized by fans of themed flea markets. The stalls offer a wide variety of items: tableware, knick-knacks, books, vinyl records, toys, clothes, small furniture, but also - this is a specificity of the place - items related to the world of transport: old license plates, manufacturer catalogs and brochures, scale models of coaches and buses, driver uniforms, railway and road postcards, automobile accessories.
The Autocars Anciens de France association, based in Wissembourg, is one of the most important public transport heritage preservation associations in Europe. Founded by enthusiasts, it has built over the years an exceptional collection of more than 200 vehicles that it restores and preserves in a vast hangar near the German border. The Conservatory opens its doors every Sunday and public holiday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. between April and November. On the first Sunday of each month, a free exhibition of vintage vehicles is offered in the courtyard. The flea market is part of this approach to sharing and discovery.
Wissembourg is a small medieval town in northern Bas-Rhin, located on the German border. With its 8,000 inhabitants, half-timbered houses, Saints-Peter-and-Paul abbey church and ramparts, it is among the most beautiful villages in Alsace. The Conservatoire des Transports complements the town's heritage with an original cultural offer, very popular with families and vintage vehicle enthusiasts. A day in Wissembourg can thus combine bargain hunting at the flea market, a visit to the Conservatory and a discovery of the historic heart of the city.
