Grand autumn fair with 300 exhibitors on the Martizay fairground, in the heart of Brenne
The Martizay Autumn Fair and Flea Market is one of the largest gatherings of bargain hunters in the Indre region, with over 300 exhibitors on the fairground and in the village streets. This October event perpetuates the tradition of large fairs in a village within the Brenne Natural Park.
Every late October, Martizay (36220) hosts its Autumn Fair and Flea Market on the fairground, rue de l'Europe. From 7:30 AM to 6 PM, over 300 exhibitors take over the fairground and adjacent streets to offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, tools, clothing, toys, and a thousand items to discover. It is one of the largest flea markets in the department, attracting bargain hunters from all over the Centre-Val de Loire region. A carousel, food stalls, and a refreshment stand, along with free parking, complete the offering.
Martizay is a village of about 900 inhabitants, located in the Regional Natural Park of Brenne. The village boasts rich heritage with its archaeological museum and its Romanesque church adorned with medieval frescoes. Surrounded by ponds, heathlands, and meadows, Martizay embodies the discreet charm of Brenne, this "land of a thousand ponds" that captivates nature and tranquility lovers.
