For over ten editions, the KesKonFé collective has been organizing a Gratiferia in Ounans, a small village in the Val d'Amour in the Jura region. This original concept, born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, consists of a completely free market: you bring what you no longer need, you take what you like, and all without the slightest financial transaction.

A solidarity and ecological concept

The Gratiferia is part of a movement of sharing, solidarity, and waste reduction. Rather than throwing away items that are still in good condition, residents drop them off on tables in the village hall. Clothes, books, toys, dishes, trinkets, small furniture: everything can find a taker. The event takes place in a spirit of mutual respect, with everyone taking only what they really need.

A convivial gathering

The Ounans village hall hosts this event every spring, usually in April, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed. Volunteers from the KesKonFé collective animate the afternoon and ensure everything runs smoothly. It's also an opportunity for the residents of Val d'Amour to come together for a moment of sharing and social connection.

The Gratiferia is one of the citizen initiatives that animate local life throughout the year.

How to participate

To participate in the Gratiferia, it's simple: come with items in good condition that you no longer need, or come empty-handed and leave with what you like. There is no obligation to bring something to be able to take. The principle is based on generosity and mutual respect. Items not taken at the end of the day are redistributed to local charities. The KesKonFé collective ensures that the event remains true to the original spirit of the Gratiferia: giving without expectation, receiving without guilt.
