The annual Christmas market in the village of Jouy-en-Josas
The Jouy-en-Josas Christmas Market gathers around fifty exhibitors each December in this southern Yvelines commune, birthplace of the famous Toile de Jouy fabric. Organised by the festival committee, it offers residents and visitors a must-attend event to prepare for the holidays: craftsmanship, creations, treats and gift ideas in a festive end-of-year atmosphere.
Each December, Jouy-en-Josas gets into the Christmas spirit and hosts its traditional end-of-year market. Organised by the festival committee and bringing together around fifty exhibitors, it embodies the spirit of ÃŽle-de-France village Christmas markets: human scale, carefully curated programme, and a setting that evokes the holidays without the frenzy of large Parisian events.
With around fifty stalls, the Jouy-en-Josas Christmas market offers a varied but human-scale offering. Art and craft makers, jewellery designers, ceramicists, soap makers, chocolatiers, local producers of wines, honeys, jams and regional specialities, Christmas decoration makers: the spectrum is broad and allows serious preparation for the holidays.
Jouy-en-Josas is a charming commune in the Bièvre valley, southwest of Paris. Its historic centre, old houses and heritage linked to the famous Toile de Jouy Manufactory founded by Oberkampf in the 18th century create a setting particularly conducive to festive atmospheres.
It's impossible to mention Jouy-en-Josas without recalling its unique industrial and artistic heritage. It was here in 1760 that the Bavarian Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf established his famous printed fabric manufactory that gave its name to this iconic cloth: Toile de Jouy. The Toile de Jouy Museum preserves the memory of this major industrial adventure.
Like all village Christmas markets, Jouy-en-Josas's is a family experience. Mulled wine, hot chocolate, crepes, Christmas cakes and Alsatian specialities warm up visitors in a simple, warm atmosphere.
The Jouy-en-Josas Christmas Market will be held on Saturday 12 December 2026 with about fifty exhibitors. Annual event organised by the festival committee: craftsmanship, creations, treats and gift ideas in a magical end-of-year atmosphere. Free admission.
