The big September car boot sale in the heart of the Jura vineyards, with mussels and fries
Every September, the Mantry Anim' association organizes a car boot sale in the village of Mantry, in the heart of the Jura vineyards. This late-summer event has become an anticipated gathering for bargain hunters in the region, located between Lons-le-Saunier and Poligny.
The unique feature of this car boot sale is its gastronomic aspect. At lunchtime, Mantry Anim' volunteers serve a meal of mussels and fries to exhibitors and visitors, along with waffles and a refreshment stand throughout the day. It's a popular combination that blends the pleasure of treasure hunting with convivial dining.
Booking is mandatory for exhibitors. The rate is 2 euros per meter. Registrations can be made by email at [email protected] or by phone at 07 82 53 84 37. Exhibitors set up from 6 a.m. for this early start day.
Mantry is a small village of 200 inhabitants nestled in the hills of the Jura vineyards, within the Côtes du Jura appellation. The surrounding vines produce Savagnin, Chardonnay, Poulsard, and Trousseau. The car boot sale takes place in a bucolic setting, amidst stone houses and vineyard landscapes.
