Annual car boot sale organized by the Comité des Fêtes of Orgères, south of Rennes
Each year in June, the Comité des Fêtes d'Orgères organizes its annual car boot sale in the village center. Private sellers set up their stalls in the streets and squares of the village, offering clothes, toys, books, trinkets, crockery, and everyday items at low prices. The event attracts bargain hunters from neighboring towns — Noyal-Châtillon, Bourgbarré, Corps-Nuds — and the Rennes metropolitan area.
Orgères (35230) is a commune of about 4,500 inhabitants located south of Rennes, between Noyal-Châtillon-sur-Seiche and Bourgbarré. This peaceful village, surrounded by agricultural land and hedgerows, retains an authentic rural character despite its proximity to the metropolis. The Fêtes Committee animates local life throughout the year, and the annual car boot sale is one of its flagship events.
The Orgères car boot sale is above all a moment of conviviality and sharing among residents. The volunteers of the Fêtes Committee provide refreshments and food — sausages, crepes, and cold drinks — creating a village festival atmosphere. Families take advantage of this Sunday to stroll, hunt for bargains, and meet up in a relaxed atmosphere.
From Rennes, head south on the D34 via Noyal-Châtillon-sur-Seiche (approx. 15 km).
