The great annual street sale that invades Herblay-sur-Seine town centre every May, organised by the Comité des Fêtes
Every May, the Grande Braderie du Centre-Ville transforms the pedestrian streets of Herblay-sur-Seine into a vibrant second-hand market. Organised by the town's Comité des Fêtes, this annual street sale welcomes between 200 and 300 stallholders — private individuals and professionals — offering clothing, objects, books, toys and craft items. A festive atmosphere is guaranteed, with entertainment and catering throughout the day.
Every May, Herblay-sur-Seine reclaims its vocation as a market town and popular celebration. The Grande Braderie mobilises several streets in the heart of the town, turning normally commercial thoroughfares into a vast open-air second-hand market. Between 200 and 300 stallholders — local residents, semi-professional vendors and craftspeople — set up from 6 AM to 6 PM to offer their wares in a relaxed and warm atmosphere.
The braderie welcomes a mixed public of exhibitors: private individuals using the event to clear out their attics and give objects a second life, semi-professional vendors with quality brocante pieces, and sometimes craftspeople with their creations. The result is a diverse offering: clothing for adults and children, toys and board games, furniture and decoration, books, vinyl records, second-hand appliances and many other unexpected finds.
