Grand street sale of Combourg with 400 non-professional exhibitors in the city of Chateaubriand
Every last Sunday of July, Combourg (35270) hosts its Grande Braderie, one of the major summer events in Ille-et-Vilaine. Around 400 non-professional exhibitors take over the streets of the city center to offer clothes, toys, books, trinkets, furniture, and various items. The event attracts nearly 15,000 bargain hunters who stroll through the streets of this historic city, the birthplace of French romanticism.
Combourg is a charming town of character, world-renowned thanks to François-René de Chateaubriand, who spent his youth there and immortalized it in his Mémoires d'outre-tombe. The majestic Château de Combourg, a medieval fortress with crenellated towers overlooking the Tranquille lake, dominates the city and is one of the most visited sites in Brittany. The cobbled streets of the city center, the old houses, and the castle park offer an exceptional setting for the summer street sale.
Organized by Combourg Animations, the street sale is subject to rigorous organization. Professionals and resellers are not admitted, ensuring the authentic spirit of a car boot sale by individuals. The fee is €4 per linear meter with a maximum of 6 meters per exhibitor. Registration is mandatory on the Combourg Animations website via Mybrocante. Registrations open on April 15th. Permanent assistance is available on Monday mornings from 9 am to 12 pm at the association's office.
