Each spring, the Salle des Associations in Lambesc hosts the Puces des Couturières, a specialized market entirely dedicated to sewing, haberdashery, and creative hobbies. Lambesc (13410) is a Provençal commune in the Bouches-du-Rhône department, nestled at the foot of the Chaîne des Côtes and the Chaîne de la Trévaresse, in the Pays d'Aix. Its history dates back nearly two thousand years: initially the Salyan market town of *Oppidum Amboliacense*, the village experienced remarkable prominence when it hosted the General Assemblies of the Communities of Provence from 1646 to 1786, earning it the nickname 'little Versailles of Aix'. In 1453, King René of Anjou acquired the lordship and gave the commune its coat of arms with the Cross of Lorraine. Lambesc retains a rich heritage: the Church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption, the 11th-century Romanesque chapel of Sainte-Anne de Goiron, the Bertoire tower mill, and the remains of Gallo-Roman villas. The village also bears the memory of the earthquake of June 11, 1909, the most destructive in metropolitan France in the 20th century.
The Puces des Couturières de Lambesc differs from traditional car boot sales due to its thematic and specialized nature. Exhibitors exclusively offer items related to sewing and creative hobbies:
The Puces des Couturières are part of a virtuous approach to reuse and the circular economy. Supplies, fabrics, and creative materials that accumulate in cupboards and workshops find a second life here with seamstresses and creators who will know how to make the most of them. Beyond commerce, the exchange of advice, tips, and techniques among enthusiasts makes this event a true place for transmission and conviviality, in the tradition of Provençal creative gatherings.
Puces des Couturières de Lambesc on March 28, 2026, at the Salle des Associations. Annual specialized market for sewing, haberdashery, wools, beads, and creative hobbies. Free entry.
