About Easter Monday Brocante Marcoussis

Every Easter Monday, the village centre of Marcoussis is transformed into a vast open-air market for the Grand Brocante organised by the Association Brocante de Marcoussis. Over 300 sellers — private individuals and professionals — take over Boulevard Nélaton, rue Alfred-Dubois and rue de la Chaussée, creating a lively bargain-hunting trail through this medieval village on the Beauce plateau. Food stalls and a festive street atmosphere complete this unmissable event in central-west Essonne.

Easter Monday Grand Brocante of Marcoussis: a major Essonne event

For many years, Easter Monday has meant one thing in central-west Essonne: the Grand Brocante de Marcoussis. This spring bank holiday sees the centre of this beautiful medieval village completely transformed: Boulevard Nélaton, rue Alfred-Dubois and rue de la Chaussée are taken over by over 300 sellers, private individuals and professionals, who spread their stalls over hundreds of metres of pedestrianised streets. The spectacle is striking, and the festive, convivial atmosphere draws thousands of visitors from across Essonne and neighbouring departments.

The Association Brocante de Marcoussis, which has organised this event with passion and rigour for many years, opens registrations at the Maison des Associations every Wednesday and Saturday in March and April.

Marcoussis, a medieval village in the Essonne vineyard

Marcoussis is an Essonne commune of around 8,000 inhabitants, perched on the Beauce plateau some 20 kilometres south-west of Paris. Its history is linked to its château and its Célestins abbey, founded in the 15th century by the Duke of Berry. The village has retained its rural character despite proximity to Paris. Marcoussis is also known for its vineyard, one of the last in Essonne.

A bargain-hunting trail through the village

Over 300 sellers offer a rich and varied mix: antique furniture and decorative objects, crockery, books and records, vintage clothing, toys, tools and garden equipment. The presence of professionals alongside private sellers guarantees quality and the chance to find rare or fine pieces.
