The Gensac Flea Market: Treasure Hunting in a Charming Village

Each summer, the village of Gensac (33890) hosts an annual flea market that takes over its narrow streets and its Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. With 100 to 200 exhibitors depending on the edition, it is one of the most popular flea markets in eastern Gironde. Visitors wander through a maze of stalls offering antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, paintings, tools, vintage clothing, and curiosities of all kinds. The village atmosphere and the quality of the items offered make it a popular event for seasoned treasure hunters.

Gensac is a commune of about 800 inhabitants perched on a promontory overlooking the Dordogne valley, on the border of Gironde and Dordogne. This village of character has remarkable heritage: a fortified church, an old market hall, blonde stone houses, shaded squares. The vineyards of the Côtes de Bordeaux stretch as far as the eye can see around the town, offering a sumptuous panorama to the visitors of the flea market.
