Grand car boot sale and flea market on July 14th in the village of Vélines
Every July 14th, the village of Vélines comes alive with a large car boot sale and flea market set up in the village streets. This summer tradition takes advantage of the Bastille Day public holiday to bring together exhibitors and visitors in a festive and relaxed atmosphere, under the Périgord Pourpre sun.
Located on the right bank of the Dordogne, between Bergerac and Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, Vélines is a wine-growing commune in Périgord Pourpre. The village, overlooking the valley, offers a remarkable panorama of the Bergerac and Montravel appellation vineyards. The market hall and the village streets provide a pleasant setting for strolling among the flea market and car boot sale stalls.
The July 14th Car Boot Sale in Vélines combines flea market items and car boot sale goods in a "foire à tout" (everything sale) atmosphere. Visitors can find a wide selection of items: crockery, trinkets, clothing, tools, books, toys, and small furniture. The day often extends into the July 14th festivities, with fireworks and musical entertainment organized by the commune.
Vélines is particularly renowned in the flea market world thanks to the presence of La Charrette Bleue, a permanent antique and flea market venue that hosts Brocapuces, a market reserved for professionals, on the first Saturday of each month. The July 14th car boot sale complements this offering by opening up bargain hunting to individuals for one day.
