A popular festival by the water

The Fête de la Madeleine is the major summer event in Belleville-sur-Loire. Every year, on the third Sunday of July, the Étang des Genièvres transforms into a festive venue combining a flea market and lively entertainment. From 6 am, exhibitors set up their stalls around the pond to offer flea market finds, car boot sale items, and all sorts of objects to early morning bargain hunters.

Belleville-sur-Loire, between the river and Sancerrois

Belleville-sur-Loire is a commune in the northeast of Cher, located on the left bank of the Loire, between Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire and Léré. This small town in the Sancerrois region is known for its proximity to the royal river and the vineyards of Sancerre. The Étang des Genièvres, a body of water developed into a leisure area, is a pleasant natural site for summer festivities, offering coolness and greenery in the heart of summer.

Flea market, concerts, and fireworks

The Fête de la Madeleine is much more than just a flea market. The association « Faut que ça tourne Belleville » organizes throughout the day concerts with artists and bands of French variety music, a musette ball, children's entertainment, shows, and a cabaret. The evening continues with a dancing dinner, a torchlight procession, and a spectacular fireworks display fired at nightfall over the pond. The drinks stand and food stalls are open for lunch and dinner. Admission is free.
