The great solidarity autumn sale of the Emmaüs community
Every autumn, the Emmaüs community of Follainville-Dennemont organizes its great autumn sale, one of the highlights of its annual calendar. Over two days, the companions open wide their sales spaces to offer furniture, dishware, books, clothes, appliances, toys and decorative objects at solidarity prices. A committed and responsible bargain hunting rendezvous in a historic Emmaüs community of northern Yvelines.
Every year, the Emmaüs community of Follainville-Dennemont organizes its great autumn sale, a rendezvous awaited by committed bargain hunters and lovers of solidarity bargain hunting. Over two days, the community's companions and volunteers open the sales spaces wide to offer a very wide choice of carefully sorted and valued second-hand items: furniture, dishware, books, clothes, appliances, toys, lamps, records, decor and bric-a-brac of all kinds.
Created in September 1978 and operating since April 1991 as an independent 1901 law association affiliated with Emmaüs International, Emmaüs Europe and Emmaüs France, the Follainville-Dennemont community is one of the major historic communities in northern Yvelines. It operates without operating subsidies, solely through the recovery, refurbishment and resale of objects carried out by companions supported by volunteers. Occasional major sales like the autumn one are decisive moments for the community's life and economic balance.
Unlike regular sales (Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday), themed major sales exceptionally open larger spaces and highlight specific collections. The great autumn sale marks the community's back-to-school and offers a particularly large volume of items, from donations of the last few months. It is the ideal opportunity for bargain hunters to find furniture, decorative objects, books or clothes at accessible prices, while concretely supporting a solidarity project.
Buying at Emmaüs means participating in a triple virtuous circle: giving a second life to objects (ecology), supporting companions who regain dignity and activity through work (solidarity), and acquiring items at very accessible prices (economy). Vintage lovers know well that Emmaüs communities often harbor real treasures: 50s-70s furniture, vinyl records, old books, brand dishware, design lamps... You just need to have a good eye and take time to browse.
