The Civraisien spring brocante

Civray, canton chief-town of southern Vienne (around 2,700 inhabitants), holds its traditional Spring Brocante each year. The 2026 edition runs over three days: Friday 24 to Sunday 26 April 2026. Set in the town centre, this professional brocante is a highlight of the south-Vienne calendar, echoing its autumn sister and the monthly markets on Place Leclerc.

Civray and Saint-Nicolas church

Civray is famous for its Saint-Nicolas church, one of the finest expressions of Poitevin Romanesque art. Its carved façade, with dozens of figures (saints, biblical scenes, evangelists, wise and foolish virgins), has been a Historic Monument since 1840. Thousands visit each year. The brocante takes place nearby, letting shoppers easily combine thrift and heritage.

Civraisien en Poitou

Civray sits at the heart of Civraisien en Poitou, a small rural region in southern Vienne, at the gates of Poitou-Charentes and Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Nearby: Charroux (Most Beautiful Village of France, with its abbey and Charlemagne tower), Saint-Macoux, Saint-Pierre-d'Exideuil, valleys of the nascent Charente. A quiet, authentic territory.
