The Chorges Olympique Car Boot Sale

The Chorges Olympique sports club organizes a car boot sale every spring on the grounds of the municipal stadium in Chorges. This friendly event allows the club to finance its sports activities while offering residents and visitors a pleasant day of treasure hunting in an exceptional alpine setting.

Chorges, gateway to Lake Serre-Ponçon

Located at the crossroads between Gapençais and Embrunais, Chorges is a commune in the Hautes-Alpes department that extends from the shores of Lake Serre-Ponçon to the first alpine foothills. The old village, with its Romanesque church and steep alleys, overlooks the largest artificial lake in mainland France. Visitors to the car boot sale can enjoy this unique panorama combining turquoise waters and snow-capped peaks.

An event for local sports

The profits from the car boot sale are entirely reinvested in Chorges Olympique to support the club's operations and equip its athletes. Volunteers ensure the welcome of exhibitors and the smooth running of the event.

What to find at the stalls?

Exhibitors offer a wide range of second-hand items: old crockery, trinkets, frames and mirrors, books and magazines, toys, clothing, small appliances, tools, sports equipment, vinyl records and CDs, home linen, and decorative objects. In the Hautes-Alpes, you can also regularly find typical mountain items: old agricultural tools, cowbells, Savoyard furniture, vintage skis, snowshoes, and hiking equipment. Prices are generally very attractive, making these car boot sales an economical and ecological alternative to buying new.

The Hautes-Alpes, land of flea markets and car boot sales

The Hautes-Alpes department, the least populated in mainland France, compensates for its low density with a particularly dynamic associative life. From March to October, car boot sales and flea markets punctuate the life of alpine villages, offering as many opportunities to hunt for treasures as to get together with neighbors. The summer season, with the influx of tourists and holidaymakers, multiplies the opportunities: passing visitors gladly stop to rummage through the stalls, sometimes discovering unsuspected alpine treasures. The exceptional mountain setting of the department adds a unique dimension to these events, combining grandiose panoramas and the pure air of the peaks.
