A charity car boot sale for hearing assistance dogs

The Les Chiens du Silence Association, based in Escondeaux since 2010, is the only organization in France that raises, trains and provides free hearing assistance dogs to deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Every year, the association organizes a car boot sale whose proceeds directly contribute to funding the training of Australian Shepherds, capable of alerting their owners to everyday sounds: doorbells, fire alarms, crying babies or calls from a loved one.

Escondeaux, birthplace of a national cause

The small village of Escondeaux, nestled in the Bigorre countryside a few kilometers from Rabastens-de-Bigorre, houses the headquarters of this association recognized as being of general interest. The car boot sale takes place in a friendly atmosphere where visitors can browse clothes, toys, trinkets and various items while discovering the remarkable work of the association and its hearing dogs trained in sign language.
