Car boot sale in the village of Couvonges, Pays de Revigny-sur-Ornain
The Vide-Greniers de Couvonges is an annual event that enlivens this small village in the Pays de Revigny-sur-Ornain. Exhibitors set up in the village streets to offer clothes, toys, crockery, books, trinkets, and all sorts of objects. Entry is free and the atmosphere is that of an authentic village car boot sale.
Couvonges is a village of 153 inhabitants, the Couvongeois, located in the Meuse department. The commune covers 4.6 km² and is part of the communauté de communes du Pays de Revigny-sur-Ornain. The surrounding landscape is that of the hills and valleys of the Barrois, with its hedged meadows, cereal crops, and small deciduous woods.
The Couvonges car boot sale illustrates the associative vitality of small villages in the Meuse region. Despite its modest size, the commune organizes this event which brings together the inhabitants and bargain hunters from the surrounding area. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, in a preserved rural setting where time seems to stand still.
