Grand annual car boot sale on rue Colbert in Tours, historic heart of Vieux-Tours
Rue Colbert is one of the most historically significant streets in Tours. Lined with half-timbered houses and Renaissance facades, it connects the Saint-Gatien Cathedral to the Place Foire-le-Roi, passing by listed residences. Every year, this picturesque street hosts a large car boot sale that brings together up to 170 exhibitors, individuals and local residents. You can find clothing, toys, books, tableware, trinkets, vinyl records, small furniture, and a thousand everyday treasures in an exceptional heritage setting.
The rue Colbert car boot sale takes place in the historic heart of Tours, a stone's throw from the famous Place Plumereau and its lively terraces. This medieval district, carefully restored since the 1960s, offers a concentrate of the Tours art of living. The proximity of the Saint-Gatien Cathedral, a masterpiece of flamboyant Gothic architecture, and the Château de Tours makes this treasure hunting day a cultural stroll. Touraine, the land of Rabelais and Balzac, has always been a crossroads of trade and exchange.
The rue Colbert car boot sale creates a village atmosphere in the city center. Local residents mingle with treasure hunters from all over the metropolitan area for a relaxed and festive day.
