Day dedicated to reuse at the Biguglia covered market
The Biguglia car boot sale and Repair Café is a full day dedicated to reuse, organized by the Marana Golo Community of Communes at the Biguglia covered market in January. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., individuals and families can sell their second-hand items, have their broken appliances repaired at the Repair Café run by volunteers, and participate in furniture customization workshops. An eco-responsible initiative that combines a friendly flea market and a circular economy.
The Marana Golo Community of Communes organizes every year in January, at the Biguglia covered market, a major day entirely dedicated to reuse and the circular economy. The Biguglia car boot sale and Repair Café is an event that brings together residents of the eastern plain and the Bastia agglomeration around common values: consume less, consume better, and extend the lifespan of objects.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the stands of the Biguglia covered market are transformed into sales spaces for individuals. Everyone can bring their everyday items, clothes, books, furniture, or tableware to offer for sale. The atmosphere is friendly and family-oriented, conducive to good deals and exchanges between neighbors. Furniture, childcare items, and objects of all kinds are found there, much to the delight of bargain hunters.
The originality of this event lies in the presence of a Repair Café, a space run by skilled volunteers in repairing household appliances, electronics, clothing, toys, and small furniture. The principle is simple: bring your defective item and leave with it in working order, thanks to the benevolent help of volunteer repairers. An educational approach that raises awareness about the fight against planned obsolescence.
The day is also enriched by furniture customization workshops led by Lohe Concept Store, allowing participants to give a second creative life to their furniture and objects. These practical workshops, led by professionals, invite participants to reinvent and embellish their possessions rather than replacing them.
Biguglia is a commune in Haute-Corse, located a few kilometers south of Bastia, on the edge of the Biguglia pond, the largest pond in Corsica and a remarkable regional nature reserve of ecological richness. The Marana Golo Community of Communes brings together the communes of the eastern plain north of the island and is actively committed to sustainable development and the circular economy in its territory.
The event takes place at the Biguglia covered market, in January. The hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free for visitors. Those wishing to have a car boot sale stand can inquire with the Marana Golo Community of Communes. For more information, visit maranagolo.org.
The Marana Golo Community of Communes is organizing a new edition of the car boot sale and Repair Café in January 2026 at the Biguglia covered market. Second-hand sales, volunteer repairs, and customization workshops are on the program.
