The Collectors' Fair of Borgo, an annual meeting for enthusiasts

Every year in early May, the Salle Polyvalente de Borgo hosts the Collectors' Fair, one of the most anticipated events for lovers of collecting, flea markets, and curiosities in Corsica. Organized for over fifteen years by antique dealer Valérie Cavalli, this fair brings together about fifty exhibitors from all over Corsica over more than 200 linear meters, from 8 AM to 6 PM without interruption, on Saturday, May 4th, and Sunday, May 5th. Entry is free for everyone.

The collections on display reflect the passion and diversity of island collectors: antique jewelry, vinyl records and 78 rpm records, old books, models and miniatures, stamp and coin collections, rocks and minerals, badges and pins, lead soldier figurines, football jerseys (including collections of historic jerseys from Sporting Club de Bastia), old postcards, paintings and artworks, old documents about Corsica. Specialists will be present to appraise items brought by visitors.

In the parking lot of the polyvalent hall, an outdoor exhibition complements the fair with dozens of classic cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, attracting car enthusiasts as well as the simply curious. This combination of indoor collecting and outdoor automotive exhibition makes the Borgo Fair a unique event in Corsica, regularly attracting over 4,000 to 5,000 visitors over the weekend.

A story of passion and loyalty

Born in the early 2000s on the initiative of antique dealer Valérie Cavalli, the Collectors' Fair of Borgo has established itself as an essential annual event in the cultural and associative life of Haute-Corse. Each edition brings its share of surprises and highlighted themes: the 17th edition notably featured an impressive collection of historic SCB jerseys (Sporting Club de Bastia), illustrating the event's memorial and heritage dimension.

The fair has endured over the years by maintaining a balance between public accessibility — free entry, family atmosphere — and the quality of the collections presented, which attract true specialists, sometimes from the mainland, looking for rare items related to Corsica. The free entry and unpretentious organization contribute to its popular success and the loyalty of a multigenerational audience.

Borgo, a town in the eastern plain

Borgo (20290) is a commune in the eastern plain of Haute-Corse, about fifteen kilometers south of Bastia. Crossed by the N193 road and close to Bastia-Poretta airport, it is part of the Bastia Urban Community. Its dynamic economic and associative fabric makes it one of the most active communes in the Bastia hinterland. The Salle Polyvalente is a community facility regularly used for major cultural and festive events in the region.
