A Monthly Event in the Heart of the Ségala

The Car boot sale Flea market Craft fair Rignac is one of the few recurring flea markets in Aveyron during the winter season. Every third Sunday of the month, from November to April, the Place du Foirail Bas comes alive with about a hundred exhibitors offering a mix of car boot sale items, flea market goods, swap meet items, and arts and crafts. This regular event attracts local bargain hunters as well as visitors passing through the Pays Rignacois, looking for antique objects, good deals, or original artisanal creations.

Rignac, a Green Resort between Plateau and Gorges

Rignac is the cantonal capital and the beating heart of the Ségala aveyronnais, a region whose name derives from the Occitan word segal (rye), a cereal once omnipresent on the acidic lands of the plateau. Labeled Station Verte and Ville Fleurie three flowers, the town combines rural heritage, preserved nature, and commercial dynamism. The ethno-botanical trail "Al Travers", 7.5 kilometers long, connects the plateau to the gorges of the Aveyron and testifies to the natural and landscape richness of this territory. The Chestnut Conservatory, located in Rignac, recalls the importance of this nourishing tree in the economy and culture of the Ségala.

Under the Market Halls and Outdoors: A Friendly Market

The event takes place indoors and outdoors on the Place du Foirail Bas. The covered areas, where booking is mandatory, host exhibitors of flea market items, antiques, and arts and crafts, sheltered from winter weather. The outdoor area complements the offer with stalls for car boot sales and swap meets. A wide variety of items can be found:

An Associative Event Open to All

Organized by the association ATMS (Team 12 Supermortard), the Rignac car boot sale, flea market, and craft fair is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with free admission for visitors. Exhibitor pitches are available at a rate of €2 per linear meter, open to both individuals and professionals. The presence of arts and crafts alongside flea market and car boot sale items distinguishes this market from traditional events and attracts a diverse audience, interested in both bargain hunting and original creations. The neighboring villages of Belcastel, listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, and Bournazel, famous for its Renaissance castle, offer complementary excursions for visitors coming from further afield.
