Treasure hunting in a listed garden-village

The Chédigny car boot sale takes place every autumn in a setting that is absolutely unique in France. Chédigny (37310), a small commune in the Indrois valley, is the first and only village in France classified as a Remarkable Garden by the Ministry of Culture. More than 800 rose bushes and thousands of perennials adorn the facades, low walls, and alleyways of the village, creating an enchanting setting for treasure hunting. Private exhibitors offer crockery, trinkets, books, toys, clothes, antique linen, small furniture and everyday objects in this bucolic and fragrant atmosphere.

Exceptional plant and built heritage

Awarded the Remarkable Garden label since 2004, Chédigny owes its transformation to a visionary municipal initiative that has turned the village into a vast open-air garden. The village hosts the famous Festival of Roses every spring, but it is in autumn, during the flea market, that one can enjoy the autumn colors of the foliage and late blooms. The Saint-Pierre church, the tuffeau houses and the flowery lanes form a remarkable heritage ensemble south of Touraine, a few kilometers from Loches.

Information for treasure hunters and exhibitors

The Chédigny flea market welcomes more than 50 exhibitors in the village streets. Refreshments and food are available on site. The exhibitor fee is €2 per linear meter. Admission is free for visitors.
