Consignment book fair and antiques fair in the heart of Bracieux
The Bracieux book fair and antiques fair is a major cultural event in the village, bringing together around 100 exhibitors between the village hall and the Place de la Halle. The book fair operates on a consignment basis in the village hall, while the antiques fair brings together about forty professionals in the central square. A gourmet market completes this day.
Each year, Bracieux hosts a dual event: a consignment book fair at the village hall and an antiques fair on the Place de la Halle and in front of the Town Hall. This event has become a must for bibliophiles and antique lovers in the region.
The book fair operates on the principle of consignment: individuals drop off their books, which are then sold for the benefit of local associations. Novels, comic books, art books, children's books, and specialized works attract a large and varied audience.
In parallel, about forty antiques and flea market professionals set up on the Place de la Halle and around the Town Hall. Antique furniture, art objects, tableware, silverware, and curiosities are offered to visitors. A gourmet market with local producers completes the offerings for this day.
Bracieux is a charming town located at the gates of the Chambord National Estate, the largest and most famous of the Loire Valley châteaux. This prime location makes it an essential stop for visitors to the Loire Valley, who can combine a visit to the château with a day of treasure hunting at the book fair and antiques fair.
The consignment system adopted for the book fair is particularly practical: individuals drop off their books at the village hall, where volunteers take care of classifying and selling them. Crime novels, classic literature, comic books, children's books, local art and history books, travel guides, and technical manuals pile up on the tables, offering a considerable choice to bibliophiles. Prices are very modest, generally between 50 cents and 5 euros per book.
Alongside the book fair, the antiques fair brings together about forty professionals on the Place de la Halle. These specialized dealers offer quality pieces: regional solid wood furniture, silverware, fine porcelain, glassware, antique lighting, art objects, and paintings. The gourmet market with its local producers—goat cheeses, Sologne honey, Cheverny wines—adds a gastronomic dimension to this cultural day.
The Bracieux book fair and antiques fair returns in June 2026 with its exhibitors and gourmet market.
