In the heart of the hamlet of Saint-Julien d'Empare, a district of Capdenac-Gare, the Foyer Rural organizes its big flea market and car boot sale every late spring. On the village square, surrounded by stone houses characteristic of Quercy, exhibitors and visitors gather for a friendly day of treasure hunting and exchanges.
The Foyer Rural is the social and cultural life association of the hamlet of Saint-Julien d'Empare. As a local structure par excellence, it organizes events throughout the year for residents: evenings, shows, activities for children and families. The big annual flea market is its flagship event, the one that mobilizes the most volunteers and brings the local community together around a common project.
The village square of Saint-Julien d'Empare is the setting for the event. This typically Quercy space, shaded by centuries-old trees, hosts exhibitors' stalls in a rural and authentic atmosphere that old-fashioned treasure hunters particularly appreciate. You can find everything: furniture, trinkets, tableware, old tools, clothing, books, toys, and various curiosities brought by individuals and flea market professionals.
Saint-Julien d'Empare is a hamlet attached to Capdenac-Gare, a commune in the Lot department on the border of Aveyron, at the junction of the Lot and Célé valleys. The area is rich in natural and architectural heritage: the high cliff of Capdenac-le-Haut overlooks the river, and the nearby Célé gorges offer spectacular landscapes. The Saint-Julien d'Empare flea market is part of this rural tradition of local events that make the communes of Lot Quercy so vibrant.
The Saint-Julien d'Empare flea market attracts visitors every year from Capdenac-Gare, Figeac, and neighboring communes in the Lot and Aveyron departments. Its location at the crossroads of two departments gives it a reach slightly beyond administrative borders, with exhibitors and visitors coming from both sides of the border.
