Toy sale and flea market under the Halle au Blé of Valençay, at the foot of the Talleyrand castle
The Valençay toy sale brings together sellers and families every spring under the magnificent Halle au Blé of this Berry town. Board games, dolls, plush toys, wooden toys, Playmobil, Lego, and childcare items change hands in a remarkable heritage setting, at the foot of the Talleyrand castle.
The Valençay Toy Sale is held every year under the superb Halle au Blé, a 19th-century wooden-framed building that gives the event a unique charm. Individuals offer toys, board games, plush toys, dolls, Playmobil, Lego, game consoles, children's bikes, and childcare items at affordable prices. The ideal opportunity for families to find second-hand treasures while extending the life of toys.
Valençay is a small town of about 2,500 inhabitants nestled in the south of the Indre department, on the border of Berry and Touraine. The town is world-renowned for its Renaissance castle, former residence of Prince de Talleyrand, and for its AOP goat cheese in the shape of a truncated pyramid. The Halle au Blé, located in the town center, regularly hosts markets, exhibitions, and festive events that animate this commune labeled "Plus Beaux Détours de France" (Most Beautiful Detours in France).
The Valençay toy sale is popular for its friendly and family atmosphere. Children are welcome to try and choose their future toys themselves. A refreshment stand is available on site. Admission is free for visitors, and the event is part of a reuse and circular economy approach that encourages the recycling of toys in good condition.
The Valençay toy sale returns on April 12, 2026, under the Halle au Blé.
