Automobile flea market and vintage vehicle gathering at the Valençay Automobile Museum
Every May 1st, the Valençay Automobile Museum opens its doors to a unique event in the Indre region: an automobile flea market combined with a vintage vehicle gathering. Exhibitors offer period spare parts, accessories, tools, technical documentation, enamel signs, miniatures, advertising posters, and objects related to the history of the automobile. Collectors come in large numbers with their vintage cars, vintage motorcycles, and old utility vehicles for a parade that delights enthusiasts.
The Valençay Automobile Museum houses about sixty vehicles in working order, from the origins of the automobile to the present day. Rare models can be admired: Panhard, Delahaye, Citroën Traction, Alpine, Gordini, and many other mechanical treasures. The special exhibition for 2026, "50 Years of Renault Sport – Alpine & Gordini," immerses visitors in the world of French motorsport. The May 1st flea market is part of this exceptional setting, just a stone's throw from the famous Château de Talleyrand.
The event attracts enthusiasts from all over the Centre-Val de Loire region and beyond. The automobile flea market allows you to find that rare part or collectible item that's hard to find elsewhere. The vintage vehicle gathering offers a striking spectacle, punctuated by exchanges between owners. On-site catering is available, and museum entry is possible at a reduced rate for participants.
