Roumens is a village of 247 inhabitants located in Lauragais, a historic region of Haute-Garonne known for its golden hills and its Autan wind. The commune has remarkable heritage: a castle, a church, and an 18th-century bridge, as well as a body of water in the heart of the village which gives it a special charm. From the plateau of La Lande, one enjoys an exceptional panorama of the Lauragais countryside and the wind turbines of the wind farm installed on three communes, including four machines on the territory of Roumens.
The Foyer de Roumens animates village life throughout the year with various activities: local festival, country dance classes, gymnastics, yoga, and of course the autumn car boot sale. This event is one of the highlights of the commune's associative calendar, under the leadership of Mayor Philippe Lasman. The volunteers of the Foyer mobilize to ensure organization, reception, and catering.
The Roumens car boot sale is the ideal opportunity to discover this preserved corner of Lauragais while treasure hunting. You can find clothes, toys, trinkets, tableware, and various items. Entry is free and refreshments are provided on site by the volunteers of the Foyer. Visitors appreciate the peaceful setting of this village between the body of water and its historical heritage.
