Autumn flea market in Sari-Solenzara, seaside resort on the Côte des Nacres, in October
Sari-Solenzara, a coastal village on the Côte des Nacres in South Corsica, hosts a flea market and car boot sale every autumn. In October, as the tourist season winds down, this market for antique and second-hand items brings together exhibitors and bargain hunters in the Santa Catalina car park. A convivial off-season event in a preserved Mediterranean setting.
After the hustle and bustle of summer, the municipality of Sari-Solenzara regains its Mediterranean serenity in October and hosts its autumn flea market. This treasure hunting event, organized in the Santa Catalina car park, brings together private sellers and professional dealers who display their stalls of antique objects, curiosities, and second-hand items.
The event takes place on Sunday mornings from 7 am to 1 pm, a classic and friendly format for car boot sales in the region. Open to both individuals and flea market professionals, it offers a good variety of merchandise and a relaxed atmosphere, very different from the summer crowds of this popular seaside resort.
Sari-Solenzara is a commune in South Corsica (postal code 20145) whose coastal part, Solenzara, is one of the busiest seaside resorts on the Côte des Nacres. This coast, stretching from the Gulf of Porto-Vecchio to the eastern plain, gets its name from the pearly color of the waters that bathe its fine sandy beaches. The Solenzara River, which flows into the sea near the village, carves out superb gorges in the hinterland.
Outside of the high season, Sari-Solenzara maintains an authentic local life, with its neighborhood shops and associations that liven up the village. The October flea market contributes to this off-season life, maintaining the connection between permanent residents and those who regularly visit this resort they know well.
Autumn in South Corsica offers ideal weather conditions for an outdoor flea market day: mild warmth, golden light, and absence of summer crowds. The Sari-Solenzara flea market benefits from this privileged setting, allowing bargain hunters to browse stalls at their leisure without the pressure or heat of summer. It's an excellent time to find items characteristic of rural and maritime Corsica: crockery, furniture, tools, books, souvenirs from the island, and many other forgotten treasures.
The Sari-Solenzara flea market returns in October 2026 to the Santa Catalina car park. An autumn gathering for bargain hunters and sellers on the Côte des Nacres, South Corsica. Free entry. Exact date to be confirmed.
