DestoK is the unmissable flea market event for the back-to-school season in the Brest metropolitan area. Every late August or early September, the Boulevard Clemenceau and the Corniche in Le Relecq-Kerhuon are covered with stands and trestles to welcome up to 300 sellers. This big back-to-school car boot sale attracts thousands of visitors who come to hunt for treasures, stroll, and enjoy a friendly day by the Brest estuary.
The event takes place from 10 am to 5 pm on the pedestrianized Corniche and Place du Camfrout. The 300 available spots are regularly fully booked several weeks in advance, a sign of the event's success. Registrations are made online via the Le Relecq-Kerhuon town hall website, often in several phases due to high demand.
Beyond the flea market, DestoK offers a festive atmosphere: food trucks, sandwiches, crêpes, sweets, and children's entertainment (wooden games offered by the Dézépions association). A music stage sometimes livens up the event in the late afternoon, helping to make DestoK a highlight of the town's social life.
DestoK is supported by the AEMV Enfants malades association, whose volunteers help with the organization and welcoming of the public. This solidarity dimension gives an extra meaning to the event, highly appreciated by residents who can combine treasure hunting with supporting a local cause.
Parking lots available for visitors are located at the Kerzincuff sports complex (Rue Jean Zay) and on the Carmel grounds (88 bis Boulevard Clemenceau).
