The Emmaüs Cour Sale in Le Relecq-Kerhuon

Every third Monday of the month, the Emmaüs community of Le Relecq-Kerhuon opens its courtyard doors for a big sale. At 5 rue Abbé Pierre, in this town on the western outskirts of Brest, visitors can browse from 2 PM to 5 PM a range of collected, sorted, and resold goods for the benefit of Emmaüs's social mission: furniture, tools, books, clothes for €1, CDs, paintings, lighting, and decorative objects of all kinds.

This monthly sale is an institution in the Brest region. It attracts a loyal clientele, consisting of individuals looking for bargains, amateur flea market enthusiasts, and anyone wishing to consume differently by giving objects a second life. The prices set by Emmaüs are resolutely affordable, in line with the movement's social mission.

Emmaüs, a movement founded on solidarity

Founded in 1949 by Abbé Pierre, the Emmaüs movement is based on a simple principle: collect items that people no longer need, repair them if necessary, and resell them to fund support for people in great difficulty. The Emmaüs Community of Brest / Morlaix / Plougastel-Daoulas, of which the Le Relecq-Kerhuon facility is a part, is a major social player in northern Finistère. It hosts companions who find work, housing, and a community living environment there.

The monthly courtyard sale is a pillar of this community's commercial activity. It allows for the sale of items collected from individuals, businesses, and during moves and inheritances.

A regular monthly event

The Emmaüs courtyard sale is held on the 3rd Monday of each month, from 2 PM to 5 PM, at 5 rue Abbé Pierre, Le Relecq-Kerhuon. Contact: 02 98 28 08 28. No reservations are necessary for visitors. Entry is free, with items being, of course, for sale.
