Grand flea market of Saint-Maurice in Montierchaume, 210 exhibitors at the gates of Châteauroux
The Brocante de la Saint-Maurice de Montierchaume is one of the most important in the Indre department. Every year in September, this major gathering of bargain hunters brings together around 210 exhibitors in the village of this commune bordering Châteauroux, with an artisan market, catering, and entertainment.
On the third Sunday of September, the commune of Montierchaume organizes its Saint-Maurice flea market, one of the largest gatherings of bargain hunters in the Indre. Approximately 210 exhibitors, professionals and individuals, take over the village streets from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, tools, clothing, collectibles, and curiosities from all eras. An artisan market complements the offer with local creations and products.
Montierchaume is a commune of about 2,500 inhabitants located a few kilometers west of Châteauroux, the prefecture of Indre. Its name evokes an ancient monastery (monasterium) that marked the history of this Berrichon territory. The commune benefits from the immediate proximity of the Châteauroux urban area while retaining a rural and green living environment, with its farms, fields, and woods bordering the Indre valley.
Saint-Maurice is traditionally the patron saint's day of Montierchaume. The flea market is part of a set of events that make this day a highlight of local life. On-site catering with refreshments and barbecues, the day takes place in a warm atmosphere. Entry is free.
The Saint-Maurice flea market of Montierchaume returns on September 21, 2026, with approximately 210 exhibitors.
