Village flea market on May 1st in the heart of Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt, on the edge of the Chinon forest
The brocante de Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt brings together bargain hunters and exhibitors in the church square, in this forest village of Chinonais, for a day of spring treasure hunting in a bucolic setting.
The brocante de Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt transforms the church square and the village center of this Chinonais village into a market of finds on May 1st. Exhibitors unpack countryside furniture, antique tableware, garden tools, clothing, books, toys, embroidered linens, brassware, and various trinkets. The rural atmosphere of the village, nestled on the edge of the Chinon forest, gives this flea market a special charm, far from the hustle and bustle of big cities.
Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt is a commune of about 2,000 inhabitants located on the edge of the vast Chinon forest, one of the largest forest areas in Touraine. The village owes its name to a former Benedictine priory and retains a picturesque Romanesque church. The proximity of Chinon, a royal fortress and renowned wine-growing town, enriches this day of treasure hunting with an unmissable heritage and gastronomic detour.
The flea market is open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Admission is free for visitors. Refreshments and food available on site.
The brocante de Saint-Benoît-la-Forêt returns on May 1, 2026.
