Flea market car boot sale by the twinning committee at the Avon-les-Roches stadium, fouées and conviviality
The twinning committee of Avon-les-Roches organizes a flea market car boot sale every summer at the communal stadium, rue de la Poste. Individuals and professionals offer furniture, trinkets, crockery, books, toys, clothes, and various other items. The atmosphere is warm and village-like, driven by the conviviality of the twinning committee which provides generous on-site catering: Touraine fouées, sandwiches, croissants, and cold drinks.
Avon-les-Roches is a commune of about 700 inhabitants located in the Manse Valley, south of Indre-et-Loire. The village is known for its troglodyte dwellings dug into the tuffeau stone and for the Château des Roches-Tranchelion, whose romantic ruins overlook the valley. The Romanesque church and the white stone houses give the town an authentic charm. The stadium, located on the edge of the village, offers an open space ideal for the flea market.
The twinning committee of Avon-les-Roches fosters cultural exchanges between the commune and its twin town. The annual flea market is one of its main fundraising activities and a gathering moment for the inhabitants of the village and neighboring communes.
