The Tavant flea market celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026. Every Easter Sunday, over 170 exhibitors — professionals and individuals — set up their stalls over nearly 2 km in the village streets, between the tuffeau houses and the church with its famous Romanesque frescoes. This spring flea market is one of the most important in southern Touraine and attracts bargain hunters from all over the Centre-Val de Loire region.
The Tavant flea market is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2026. Every Easter Sunday, over 170 exhibitors — flea market professionals and individuals — take over the village streets for nearly 2 kilometers. The offerings are vast and varied: antique furniture, earthenware, trinkets, books, tools, vinyl records, toys, linens, and curiosities of all kinds. The refreshment stand and catering on site allow you to spend the whole day hunting for treasures in this exceptional setting.
Tavant is a small village of about 300 inhabitants nestled in the Vienne valley, a few kilometers from L'Île-Bouchard. The village is world-renowned for the Romanesque frescoes in the crypt of its Saint-Nicolas church, dating from the 12th century, considered among the most beautiful in France. The white tuffeau houses, troglodyte cellars, and flowered gardens give Tavant an authentic charm that enhances the atmosphere of the Easter flea market.
Since its creation in 2002, the Tavant flea market has continued to grow, from a handful of exhibitors to over 170 today. Registration is through the Tavant town hall until March 30th. Admission is free for visitors.
