Every Thursday morning, the Place du Nombre d'Or comes alive with a parade of carefully arranged stalls. Between 25 and 30 professional exhibitors — second-hand dealers, booksellers, antique linen merchants, vinyl record dealers, and craft creators — set up their treasures under the neoclassical arcades of the Antigone district. Savvy bargain hunters arrive as early as 7:30 AM to find that rare gem: a Limoges porcelain set, an original edition by Giono, an impossible-to-find Brassens vinyl record, or a recycled art creation. This professional market also offers advice and valuations, with experts available by appointment.

Antigone, an architectural setting designed by Ricardo Bofill

The Antigone district, designed by Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill in the 1980s, provides a spectacular setting for Les Jeudis d'Antigone. The Place du Nombre d'Or, whose proportions respect the famous golden ratio dear to Renaissance architects, is lined with columns and pediments inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity. This monumental setting, unique in France, gives the market a solemn yet friendly atmosphere. A stone's throw from the Lez river and the Esplanade de l'Europe, visitors can extend their treasure hunt with a stroll along the fountains.

Les Jeudis d'Antigone benefit from the support of the City of Montpellier, the CCI Hérault (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hérault), and the ADRA (Association of Antigone Residents).
