Large spring brocante and car boot sale with over 200 exhibitors in the streets of Odratzheim, in the heart of the Kochersberg
The Odratzheim Brocante and Car Boot Sale is one of the largest events of its kind in the Alsatian Kochersberg. Bringing together more than 200 to 250 exhibitors, professional antique dealers and private sellers, it takes over the streets of the village each spring, notably rue du Château. In this small wine-growing village at the foot of the Vosges, bargain hunters stroll among the stalls offering antiques, old furniture, crockery, trinkets, books, toys, tools, collectibles, vintage clothing, vinyl records and a thousand other treasures. The half-timbered houses and typical alleys offer an authentic and charming setting for this highly anticipated event, which attracts bargain hunters from all over Alsace each year.
The Odratzheim Brocante and Car Boot Sale has become over the editions one of the most popular events in the Kochersberg, this rich agricultural and wine-growing region located between Strasbourg and Saverne. With more than 200 to 250 exhibitors spread throughout the village streets - mainly the rue du Château and adjacent streets - it offers bargain hunters a vast treasure hunt ground. Professional antique dealers and private sellers rub shoulders in a warm atmosphere, offering a unique mix of brocante (antiques, old furniture, earthenware, glassware, light fixtures, prints, postcards) and car boot sales (clothing, toys, books, trinkets, crockery, everyday objects). This diversity is the charm and richness of the event, where you can find both a rare collectible and a pleasant object at a low price.
Odratzheim is a small typical Alsatian village in the Vosges foothills, located on the first slopes of the Alsatian vineyard. Its colourful half-timbered houses, its cobbled alleys, its church and its old wells offer a picturesque and authentic setting for the brocante. Bargain hunters particularly appreciate this village atmosphere, which contrasts with large urban brocantes and combines the pleasure of hunting with the discovery of remarkable Alsatian architectural heritage. Exhibitors set up their stalls in front of the houses, at the foot of the half-timbered walls, creating a convivial and photogenic atmosphere that delights visitors and amateur photographers.
Odratzheim is a commune in the Bas-Rhin located in the Marlenheim canton, about twenty kilometres west of Strasbourg. This small village of about 300 inhabitants is part of the Kochersberg, the historical granary of Alsace, but also a wine-growing area with its first rows of vines at the south gate of the village. The commune is close to Marlenheim, Wasselonne and the Mossig valley, at the crossroads of several tourist axes. The local associative dynamic allows the organisation of this major annual brocante which mobilises volunteers, inhabitants and shopkeepers to offer visitors a warm and gourmet day - because on site, the refreshment stand, the catering and Alsatian specialities are always at the rendezvous.
