Monthly flea market on the last Sunday of the month — Place de la Mairie, Cœur de Causse
Cœur de Causse, a commune born from the merger of Labastide-Murat and neighboring villages, is perched on the great Gramat causse, at an altitude of 400 meters. This limestone plateau, dotted with dolmens and sheepfolds, offers the dry and bright landscapes characteristic of the Quercy blanc. It is in this setting that Bernadette and André Serres have established a monthly flea market on the Place de la Mairie, which has become a highly appreciated event for residents and summer visitors.
The regularity of this event is one of its strengths: every last Sunday of the month, the Place de la Mairie in Cœur de Causse comes alive with flea market stalls. Private and professional sellers offer their items in a village market atmosphere, shaded by the plane trees in the square. Furniture, crockery, antique objects, clothing, and various curiosities are available to visitors in a bucolic and relaxing setting.
Bernadette and André Serres have thought of visitor comfort in every detail: a snack bar and a small restaurant are available on site for refreshments, toilets are accessible behind the town hall, and parking nearby facilitates access to the event. The refreshment stand allows you to quench your thirst while continuing to hunt for treasures.
The Labastide-Murat flea market is part of the tradition of causse markets and fairs, which have long punctuated the economic life of these plateaus. Today, it contributes to animating a rural commune that jealously preserves its identity and exceptional living environment.
