Caniac-du-Causse is a village in the Lot (46240), located on the Causse de Gramat plateau, one of the largest causses in Quercy. This territory of limestone lawns, dolmens, caves, and open landscapes is part of the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park, recognized for the richness and diversity of its ecosystems. The village of Caniac-du-Causse, with its typical blonde stone architecture of the causses, perpetuates a millennia-old rural tradition.

A Car Boot Sale on the Village Green

The Comité des Fêtes de Caniac-du-Causse organizes its car boot sale every summer on the village green. This vast space, traditionally dedicated to livestock fairs of yesteryear, now hosts exhibitors and bargain hunters for a friendly day of treasure hunting. From 8 am to 6 pm, individuals and amateur sellers offer their items: clothing, books, toys, crockery, tools, trinkets, and various curiosities. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-friendly, in the tradition of Quercy's summer events.

An Outdoor Day on the Causse

The village green in Caniac-du-Causse offers a spacious and airy area to accommodate exhibitors in good conditions. In summer, the Causse plateau benefits from incomparable light and pleasant morning temperatures. The car boot sale is held outdoors, with refreshments and toilets available on site. Entry is free for visitors, and parking is easy around the village green.

The Causse de Gramat and its Treasures

Caniac-du-Causse is located near several natural and tourist sites in Quercy: the Cougnac caves (about fifteen kilometers away), the Padirac chasm (about twenty kilometers away), the Célé valley, and the Lot valley. The town of Gourdon is accessible in about twenty minutes, and Cahors is about 40 kilometers to the west.

Caniac-du-Causse is accessible from Gourdon (about 20 km west) and from Gramat (about 15 km north). Parking is available at the village green.
