Brocante foire au tout in Mouhet, 200 exhibitors in the heart of the Berrichonne countryside
The brocante foire au tout de Mouhet is one of the most important spring events in the south of Indre. With around 200 exhibitors, this major event transforms the village streets into a huge open-air flea market. The "foire au tout" format combines a classic flea market, car boot sale, and sales of new and used items: furniture, tableware, trinkets, tools, clothing, toys, books, garden tools, plants, and a thousand other things. The eclectic stalls delight bargain hunters who love surprises.
Mouhet is a commune of about 300 inhabitants located in the south of Indre, on the border of Creuse. This small village in the Marche Berrichonne is set in a landscape of granite hills, hedgerows, and forests. The church, stone farms, and sunken lanes bear witness to a preserved rural way of life. The commune is crossed by the Benaize, a tributary of the Anglin, in a green and tranquil valley. Despite its modest size, Mouhet shows remarkable associative dynamism, which is reflected in the organization of this large-scale 'foire au tout'.
With 200 exhibitors for a village of 300 inhabitants, the 'foire au tout' of Mouhet illustrates the vitality of the rural associative fabric of Berry. Admission is free, refreshments and food are available on-site, and the atmosphere is resolutely festive and popular.
