Assumption flea market in the heart of Éguzon-Chantôme, by the largest lake in Centre-Val de Loire
The August 15th flea market in Éguzon-Chantôme takes advantage of the Assumption holiday to bring together bargain hunters and exhibitors in the heart of this "Station Verte" (Green Resort), famous for its lake and dam. Furniture, trinkets, tableware, and flea market items are displayed in an exceptional tourist setting between the lake and the Creuse gorges.
On August 15th, Assumption Day, the village of Éguzon-Chantôme (36270) hosts its annual flea market. Exhibitors take over the town's streets to offer antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, books, decorative items, tools, and various curiosities. The event benefits from the summer tourist influx in this commune known for its 312-hectare lake, the largest body of water in Centre-Val de Loire, and its hydroelectric dam inaugurated in 1926.
Éguzon-Chantôme is a commune of about 1,400 inhabitants, a "Station Verte" nestled in the Creuse Valley, on the border of Berry and Limousin. Its dam, built between 1922 and 1926, was the largest in Europe at the time (61 meters high). The resulting lake stretches for 17 kilometers and offers developed beaches, sailing, canoeing, and water skiing. The Creuse gorges downstream, painted by the Impressionists, complete an exceptional natural panorama. Hunting for treasures in Éguzon means combining the passion for antique objects with the discovery of a remarkable natural site.
The flea market is held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the heart of Éguzon-Chantôme. Free admission. Refreshments and food available on site. Numerous parking spaces nearby.
