Spring flea market in Éguzon-Chantôme, village of the Chambon lake on the Creuse
The Éguzon-Chantôme flea market is held every spring in this village famous for its dam and its artificial lake, the Chambon lake. Located in the Creuse valley, Éguzon offers an exceptional natural and tourist setting for a day of treasure hunting by the water.
The Éguzon-Chantôme flea market takes place every spring in this village in the Creuse valley, world-renowned for its dam and the Chambon lake. Exhibitors set up in the village streets to offer furniture, tableware, trinkets, books, tools, toys, decorative objects, and various curiosities. The event attracts local bargain hunters and passing tourists drawn by the lake's water and outdoor activities.
Éguzon-Chantôme is a commune of about 1,300 inhabitants located in the south of the Indre department. The village owes its fame to the Éguzon Dam, built in 1926, which created the Chambon lake, one of the largest artificial lakes in France with its 312 hectares. The turquoise waters of the lake, nestled in the gorges of the Creuse, offer a spectacular landscape that earned the site the nickname “blue lake”. Swimming, sailing, fishing, hiking, and climbing make Éguzon a major tourist destination in Berry. The village retains old houses and a charming village atmosphere.
The Éguzon flea market allows you to combine treasure hunting with outdoor leisure. After browsing the stalls, visitors can head to the beaches of Chambon lake or take the hiking trails in the Creuse gorges. Admission is free.
The Éguzon-Chantôme flea market returns on May 10, 2026, in the village of Lake Chambon. Free admission.
