About Vauban Brocante Abbeville

The Esplanade Vauban Brocante takes over Abbeville on Sunday 10 May 2026 from 6am to 6pm. Organised by the association Les Tchiots et Les Ainés, it gathers 180 exhibitors on this vast Abbeville esplanade. In the heart of the Ponthieu capital, this event stands out as one of the major spring rendezvous for Picard bargain hunters, with a wide offering mixing private sellers and professional dealers in a pleasant urban setting.

A flagship brocante in Abbeville

Abbeville, Somme sub-prefecture and historic capital of the Ponthieu, has a solid brocante calendar. The Esplanade Vauban Brocante, run by Les Tchiots et Les Ainés, is one of its highlights. On Sunday 10 May 2026 from 6am to 6pm, 180 exhibitors set up on Esplanade Vauban, a vast open space in the town centre. This generous layout lets hunters circulate comfortably, examine items calmly, and take time to negotiate.

Les Tchiots et Les Ainés, devoted organisers

The association Les Tchiots et Les Ainés ("the little ones and the elders" in Picard) runs the event with a strong intergenerational spirit. Volunteers of all generations handle welcome, setup, safety, refreshments and entertainment. Proceeds support local association work, particularly intergenerational. Taking part supports an authentic Abbeville solidarity dynamic.

180 stalls for every taste

With 180 exhibitors, the offering is extremely varied, balanced between private sellers and professionals. Private: clothing, toys, books, tableware, vinyls, videos, trinkets, small furniture, baby items. Professional dealers: antique furniture, paintings, crystal, silverware, collectibles, militaria (both wars strongly marked the Ponthieu), antique jewellery, clockwork, numismatics, philately, postcards. Specialist collectors: comics, collector toys, vintage, design, vintage photography.

Esplanade Vauban, the brocante's showcase

Esplanade Vauban is an iconic Abbeville space, near the historic centre. Named after Sébastien Le Prestre de Vauban, Louis XIV's famous military engineer who left many fortified traces in Picardy. Its size, centre-town proximity and accessibility make it a prime location for a 180-stall brocante. Hunters can easily combine the brocante with the historic centre visit.

Abbeville, Ponthieu capital

Abbeville is a town of 23,000, historic capital of the Ponthieu and Somme sub-prefecture. Rebuilt after WWII bombardments, it still keeps fine remains: the Saint-Vulfran church with its flamboyant façade, the belfry and collegiate church, the Somme banks, the Emonville gardens. The town is also known for the Boucher de Perthes museum (prehistory) and for its mechanical and textile industry. Abbeville is also the natural gateway to the Baie de Somme and Marquenterre.

A day in Abbeville

The Vauban Brocante opens at 6am for early risers, peaks 9am-2pm, closes at 6pm. Several refreshment options: association stalls on the esplanade, nearby cafés and restaurants. To extend the day: Saint-Vulfran church, Emonville gardens, possibly an escape to the Baie de Somme (30 km) or Saint-Valéry-sur-Somme. A Sunday 10 May ideally programmed for lovers of bargain hunting and Picard heritage.
