Flea market in the historic village of Tillac, a fortified medieval city in the Gers, 80 exhibitors
Every autumn, the Brocante de Tillac takes over the streets of this historic fortified village in the Gers, one of Gascony's most picturesque. Organized by ACTST, this event brings together around 80 exhibitors in an exceptional medieval setting: a gatehouse, half-timbered houses, and cobbled streets. Pitches are available at 2.50 euros per linear meter. Tillac, with its 300 inhabitants and intact heritage, offers an unforgettable flea market backdrop.
The Brocante de Tillac is one of the most photogenic events in the Gers. The stalls of the 80 exhibitors are set up in the narrow streets of this fortified medieval city, between the 14th-century gatehouse and the restored half-timbered houses. The setting is striking: you hunt for treasures amidst intact architectural heritage that seems to have traversed the centuries unaltered.
Tillac is a village of 300 inhabitants located 30 km northwest of Auch, between Mirande and Marciac. This fortified medieval city preserves remarkable heritage: its gatehouse flanked by two round towers, its single street lined with timber-framed and corbelled houses, and its Saint-Jacques church. Tillac is often described as one of the most authentic villages in Gascony, a place where time seems to have stopped in the Middle Ages.
The association ACTST (Association Culturelle et Touristique de Séailles et Tillac) organizes the flea market as part of its activities to promote local heritage. The profits from the event contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the village. ACTST also organizes other cultural and festive events throughout the year.
Pitches are offered at a rate of 2.50 euros per linear meter. The 80 exhibitors offer a mix of flea market and car boot sale items: Gascon furniture, pottery, earthenware, antique linens, country tools, toys, books, and decorative objects. The linear layout of Tillac's single street creates a natural and pleasant treasure-hunting route, from the entrance gate to the village exit.
