Grand autumn flea market of Semblançay, 300+ exhibitors on rue Foulques Nerra
The Brocante de Semblançay brings together more than 300 exhibitors every September on rue Foulques Nerra and the adjacent streets of the village. Individuals, professional antique dealers, and local producers offer a wide variety: antique furniture, trinkets, tableware, tools, books, clothing, toys, and local Touraine products. From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., bargain hunters browse the stalls in a warm village atmosphere. Refreshments and food are available on site, provided by the festival committee.
Semblançay is a commune of about 2,200 inhabitants located north of Tours, in the Gâtinais tourangeau. The village preserves the remains of a medieval castle and an old church. The commune gave its name to Jacques de Beaune, Baron de Semblançay, superintendent of finance under François I, whose tragic story marked the Renaissance. Rue Foulques Nerra, which runs through the village, is named after the famous Count of Anjou who built fortresses.
The festival and leisure committee of Semblançay organizes this annual flea market, which is the main commercial and festive event in the commune. Admission is free for visitors.
