The Annual Flea Market of Pont-d'Ain: A Summer Event at the Foot of the Castle

Every first Sunday of August, the medieval town of Pont-d'Ain hosts its grand annual flea market on the Champ de Foire square, a vast esplanade in the heart of this commune located at the confluence of the Ain and Suran rivers. Organized by the UCEP, this event has become a must-attend summer gathering in the Revermont and Bugey regions.

The Champ de Foire: A Historic Location

The Champ de Foire square, at 152 place éponyme, provides an ideal setting for this flea market. This space, historically dedicated to fairs and markets, perpetuates a centuries-old tradition of commercial exchange. Stalls spread across the entire square, offering a varied treasure-hunting route where regional furniture, tableware, old tools, books, trinkets, and collector's items can be found.

Pont-d'Ain, Medieval Town of the Revermont

Dominated by the remains of its medieval castle, Pont-d'Ain captivates with its architectural heritage and preserved natural environment. The Ain River, with its turquoise waters, winds at the foot of the town, offering spectacular landscapes. Visitors to the flea market can extend their day with a stroll through the medieval streets or a walk along the river, before dining in one of the local restaurants.

The UCEP, Guardian of a Local Tradition

The Union Collection Économique Pondinoise (UCEP) brings together the economic and associative actors of Pont-d'Ain around common projects. The annual flea market, the association's flagship event, contributes to the commercial dynamism of the commune and its influence in the Revermont and Bugey regions. UCEP volunteers ensure the logistical organization, the reception of exhibitors, and the coordination of the entire event.

Practical Information

Exhibitor registration is done online via the Payasso platform. As spaces are limited, early registration is recommended. The event welcomes exhibitors from 4:30 AM and visitors until 6 PM. Information is available at 04 74 36 38 62 or 07 49 10 23 89. Parking is free around the Champ de Foire.
