The Sou des Écoles de Saint-Jean-le-Vieux organizes one of the most popular flea markets in the canton each year. This event, which takes place in the Place de l'Église and the Allée des Érables, in the heart of the village, attracts between 100 and 200 exhibitors and thousands of visitors from all over the Bourg-en-Bresse basin and the Revermont region.

Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, a village in Revermont nestled between vineyards and the foothills of the Jura, offers a remarkable setting for this spring flea market. The stalls are set up around the church and along the Allée des Érables, creating a shaded and pleasant treasure hunt route. The offer is generous: clothes, toys, books, crockery, furniture, tools, trinkets, and collectibles at attractive prices.

A strong commitment to schools

All profits from the flea market are donated to the Sou des Écoles, an association that finances school trips, educational materials, and educational projects for the commune's nursery and primary schools. This civic commitment gives the event a solidarity dimension that further enhances its appeal to families and villagers.

Practical Information

Visitors are welcome from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with free entry. Exhibitors set up from 5 a.m., at a rate of 2 euros per linear meter without a vehicle or 3 euros with a vehicle. Coffee is offered to exhibitors. Registration is done by email with an identity document, proof of address, and the number of meters desired. Food and drinks are provided by the volunteers of the Sou des Écoles.
