Matha is a town in Charente-Maritime located between Saint-Jean-d'Angély and Cognac, in the heart of a renowned wine region. The town is dominated by the imposing remains of its medieval castle, whose keep and ramparts bear witness to a rich historical past. Matha is also known for its historic dairy and its industrial heritage. The Place du Château, the central venue of the event, offers an exceptional setting with its old stones and unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside.

A Car Boot Sale Open to All

Unlike many car boot sales reserved for individuals, the one in Matha also welcomes flea market professionals, thus enriching the diversity of stalls and the quality of the items offered. At a rate of €3 per linear meter, exhibitors have pitches on the square and in the adjacent streets. Reservations are mandatory.

Football and Local Life

Avenir de Matha Football organizes this event to finance the club's activities. The on-site refreshments and food, provided by the club's volunteers, contribute to the friendly atmosphere of this day. The funds raised allow for the purchase of sports equipment, financing of travel, and organization of tournaments for the village's youth.
