About Festibroc des Essards
The Festibroc des Essards is a friendly flea market that takes place over two days in July, in an idyllic outdoor setting by the Dronne river, in Sud Charente. Around 200 exhibitors set up along the riverbanks to offer furniture, trinkets, clothes, and second-hand items. The event is distinguished by its festive atmosphere with fairground rides, fireworks, a mussel and fries evening, and a miniature boat exhibition on the Dronne. Entry is free for visitors.
A festive flea market by the Dronne
The Festibroc des Essards is a summer event that combines a flea market with festivities in an exceptional natural setting. Every year in July, the commune of Les Essards, in Sud Charente, organizes this two-day event along the Dronne river, which flows through this peaceful part of the department.
200 outdoor exhibitors
Around 200 exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, set up their stalls along the Dronne riverbanks. The unpacking, open from 7 am to 8 pm, offers a wide selection of furniture, crockery, toys, clothes, trinkets, and flea market items. Exhibitor setup begins at 6 am on Saturday and 8 am on Sunday.
Fairground rides, fireworks, and mussels and fries
The Festibroc is not just about the flea market. The event also features fairground rides for all ages, fireworks on Saturday evening, a mussel and fries evening (booking required at 7:30 pm), and an exhibition of miniature boats on the Dronne. A bar and snack bar are available on-site throughout the weekend.

By car
From Angoulême, take the D674 towards Barbezieux then the D731 towards Chalais and Les Essards (approx. 50 minutes). From Ribérac, take the D708 north (approx. 25 minutes).
