A festive flea market by the Dronne
The Festibroc des Essards is a summer event that combines a flea market with festivities in an exceptional natural setting. Every year in July, the commune of Les Essards, in Sud Charente, organizes this two-day event along the Dronne river, which flows through this peaceful part of the department.
200 outdoor exhibitors
Around 200 exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, set up their stalls along the Dronne riverbanks. The unpacking, open from 7 am to 8 pm, offers a wide selection of furniture, crockery, toys, clothes, trinkets, and flea market items. Exhibitor setup begins at 6 am on Saturday and 8 am on Sunday.
Fairground rides, fireworks, and mussels and fries
The Festibroc is not just about the flea market. The event also features fairground rides for all ages, fireworks on Saturday evening, a mussel and fries evening (booking required at 7:30 pm), and an exhibition of miniature boats on the Dronne. A bar and snack bar are available on-site throughout the weekend.

Festibroc des Essards — edition 2026
The Festibroc des Essards returns on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026 for two days of flea market and garage sale along the Dronne, in a green setting in Southern Charente. Organized by the Comité des fêtes des Essards, this friendly event brings together about a hundred exhibitors, both private individuals and professionals.
The Festibroc des Essards is a two-day festive flea market organized for about fifteen years by the Comité des fêtes des Essards (Charente, 16210), on the banks of the Dronne, chemin de la rivière. The 2026 edition takes place on Saturday, July 18 and Sunday, July 19, 2026.
About a hundred exhibitors, both private individuals and professionals, offer flea market items, garage sale finds, and good deals to bargain hunters. The event is open to visitors from 8 am to 7 pm, with exhibitor setup starting at 6 am. On site: parking, restrooms, refreshment stand, and catering. Children's entertainment is planned, as well as a mussels and fries meal followed by a dance and fireworks on Saturday evening.
Pitch fee: €6 for 10 meters for one day, €10 for 10 meters for both days, with shaded pitches by the water. Free entry for visitors.

By car
From Angoulême, take the D674 towards Barbezieux then the D731 towards Chalais and Les Essards (approx. 50 minutes). From Ribérac, take the D708 north (approx. 25 minutes).
